Organizational Background Information

Dean Mary Ellen Zuckerman

I spent my time during my field experience at the new School of Business at Ithaca College’s campus. My field experience supervisor, Dean Mary Ellen Zuckerman, provided me with the organizational structure of the office, which includes administrative and staff support of nine individuals. They range from Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, a program and assessment specialist, three administrative assistants, a professional development coordinator and an alumni and corporate relations coordinator. The Dean manages internal and external matters while the Associate Dean works closely with the faculty to ensure programs and requirements of the program are competitive with other AACSB schools. The Assistant Dean works directly with students to ensure their time at Ithaca College is positive. Assistant Dean Richardson is bridges student needs with the faculty’s perspectives and works closely with faculty members from time to time. The school of business has 46 faculty, eleven of which are professors, twelve are associate professors, five lecturers, as well as assistant professors and two instructors.

The school of business recently opened their doors to a new sustainable facility in 2008 (see link below for more information).
